Breaking: Romero to AAA, Gonzalez DFA'd, Storey & Ortiz Called Up

Ricky Romero should never have been up in the majors this past week, and management is admitting their mistake by sending him back down the minors, this time to AAA Buffalo. Joining him is Edgar Gonzalez, who was DFA'd a day after being called up to replace the injured J.A. Happ. To replace these 2 pitchers, Mickey Storey and Ramon Ortiz have been called up.

Ortiz should get the start on Sunday, barring any changes(which one would be wise to assume will happen). It won't be a pretty sight to see the 40 year old Ortiz take on the Red Sox, who, have been regressing in the past few days.  After Sunday, the Jays have off days on Monday and Thursday, so Romero's spot won't be needed until May 21st.

Storey, 27, was one of AA's waiver claims this past off-season, and has been pitching in AAA for the past month and a bit. He owns a 3.83 FIP for the Bisons in 17.1 IP.

Doesn't it feel like the 2012 season has never ended?
